Today was Sam's share day. . . which means he had several jobs throughout his dayat school. Here he is dropping in the "gumballs" while everyone counts (the number was 15 and when he got to 10, he dropped in two at a time so the class had to say 11,12 quickly, then he grabbed the last three for a very fast 13, 14, 15!!!) tricky!
He got to "dress the boy" on the good ol' felt board - looks like he lost one sock and one mitten, but that happens. He points at things while the kids in the group raise their hands to say what color it is.
Here he is sharing his catapult he brought from home. It shoots marshmallows. It was a big hit with everyone. He told how his dad made it and Will has one too and they shoot marshmallows at each other with them. The kids then raise their hands and he calls on them and they ask questions for him to answer. Ellie raised her hand at the very end and said "You should come over to my house sometime . . . and bring that along!" You can see that Mrs. Fink was enjoying the whole thing.
Younger brother Max came at the end to watch the happenings. I got him to do the Skinamarinky dinky doo song with the kids. He is getting very interested in what goes on in that place but has a while to wait yet before he joins up!!!Little Lulu:A couple nights ago Lily was over and requested Little Lulu. Well, between cartoons they sing the theme song and I noticed she was trying to sing along "Little Lulu, I love you-lu just the same..." So I tried to sing along to teach her the words and to my horror I realized one part of the song goes something like this: "You're wilder than a Zulu and much harder to tame" I thought WOW, is that a very good thing to teach my grandchild?! Well, it was from the 50's and for the sake of making it rhyme . . . . but really, I was stunned. I don't know. Is that right?! I only wanted her to love Little Lulu like I did as a child.
DING!!! oooops! BIGGER ding! yikes!
THE BIG DING - DANG!!!!!! My little Hyundai did not fare so well yesterday against the steel sign that says "Do Not Enter" that sits in the middle of the driveway that I drive into each morning at work to get "my usual spot". I've been making that maneuver for a good 3 years or so, but this time something went terribly wrong. I still don't know how to explain it!
This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. So . . . . let's dance . . . . let's sing . . . . let's be silly . . . . let's laugh . . . . let's praise Him . . . . let's go crazy with love!!!!!!!!!!!
This is how our neighborhood looks these days. Lot of melting with the warm temps, but it's getting pretty ugly, too. Either it needs to melt down to the ground completely or get a fresh coat of snow, which I think I heard is going to be the case Friday night. Even though it has felt like spring, we all know that Feb. in Iowa means cold and snow. Notice to the right in the picture there is kind of a shelf of snow. It's been kind of cool watching the different formations take place in melting snowbanks out here, but then I get a kick out of watching paint dry, so . . . It got pretty windy out here and blew my trellis off the side of the porch. Oh, man, it broke my funky glass bottle (bottom left), and broke the head off my pink flamingo birdhouse. I cleaned up the mess and we're good to go for now. We catch some pretty strong winds, that's why we get the snow drifts we do and the leaf piles we do and all that good stuff. The day Don and I blow away, we'll just pick ourselves back up, dust ourselves off, and start all over again. Hey, that could be a song!
The growth that was removed from my scalp last week (or so) was a benign tumor called a: Are you ready for this? trichilemmoma Ta-Da!!!! Kind of like "tickle your momma!" Anyway Dr. said google it and here's what it said: a benign neoplasm with differentiation toward pilosebaceous follicular epithelium. So there you have it. All you ever wanted to know about the lump on my head. Benign, being the key word. Thank you, Lord, I am free.
Both of my preschool grandkids are "Star of the Week" at the same time - which is this week!!! It is almost more than I can stand! From my art table, I look to the right and there they are on the bulletin board just as cute as can be. They got to decorate these posters which tell things about themselves such as their favorite color, food, etc., their family, what they want to be when they grow up, etc. Sam wants to be a policeman and Lily wants to be a ballerina. Wonderful!!!
Baby Puppy Lily - so cute! Sam is being a bee! Max is a baby pig. Fun at Michael's.
Happy Birthday, Jill, may you always remain young at heart and full of fun and love! Love you so very much!
