Pray

Pray for Don. He is so very tired - working 12 hour days. He has been loaned out to small assembly (he is in large) this week and 4 different times other guys told him to slow down today. Perhaps as the week goes on, he will begin to!!! Pray for his kids and him as there are issues and problems going on in Ohio as well as California. Don feels like trouble is coming at him from both coasts. His heart is so heavy. I prayed over him tonight. And put him to bed at 7:00. My heart is weighing me down also. Yet I praise God for this time, because it is drawing us closer to Him and to each other. And while we feel so helpless, we are reminded of how big and strong our God is. Pray, it's all I know to do.

Name these folks!

The first person who can name this couple could be eligible to win the grand prize. Come on, you people out there in blogland, put on your thinking caps. There are some who should know the answer right away.

Sat. morning meetin'

We had breakfast with Grandma and Grandpa this morning over at the Waterfront HyVee. We visited for a couple hours - they never took off their hats and coats the whole time! It was a nice little visit. They are starting to share lots of little tidbits from their childhood as they come back into their memories. That is sweet. Nothing newsy - just sweet tidbits!

oooooooh. . . what?!

Some of you will recognize this right away, still others will wonder what the heck?! Well, it's my coffee table, of course. Pretty funky, huh? As time goes by, it gets more and more color and character. I sometimes think about getting a new one, but when I picture it in my mind, I just don't think another would work for me as well as this one does. We are too comfortable together. I can put my feet on it and no harm done. . . my glass of pepsi and no harm done. . . drip paint on it and it just gets better. I use to cover it up when company came, but I have stopped doing that. It's like hiding a friend that might embarrass you or something and well, I am kind of proud of her actually. I think she has earned a name. Ideas anyone?

MY GIRLS

This is Laura. I mean just look at her. Isn't she very nice? Yes, well, she is the mother of Lily after all. hmmmmm...........don't you just wonder what she is thinking?
And this is Jill. What in the world is she up to? Trying different angles? going all out for that perfect shot? or just taking it easy while trying to figure out her camera?
And here, last, but not least, is Emily. Is she not beautiful also? She is playing with the kids before it is time to be off to the airport. Bittersweet time. We love and miss her.

Our anniversary.

Happy 7th anniversary to us. Don gave me these lovely roses. They are really dark red and peach. Very pretty. I love him.

Goofyness!

OK, some goofy things about this picture: What is that bird doing on the left side in front of my artfest poster? Answer is, it's not a bird, it's part of a pole lamp. But it really freaked me out when I first saw it - thought one of us brought a bird in with us! Now move to the right side of picture and note the back of my hair. Am I growing a fin? tail? or is it just a big bow? To find out what it really is, check the previously published blog entry. What's with my left eyebrow? It's always going out of control!!! It's equally annoying on my list of frustrating things with finding a random dark chin hair. yuk. I could go on, but why? And to think God loves me anyway.

Something Fishy going on!

This is the fish I got Don for Christmas. Look closely and see that the bottom fin spells out Jesus. Upon looking closer yet you can read "Come follow me", Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men." It's over 36" long and hangs above his fish aquarium!

It's here!!!

It has finally arrived! Our new camera is here. The battery is getting charged as we speak. Then I will try to learn to use it as soon as I can. I hope it works out for us. I have really missed not having one since the use of digital and blogging and all!

goofy day

My day started out with my car door not closing - guess it was iced up or something. Took me a half hour to get it to close so I could drive off to work. A huge truck and a bus in front of the office blocking the street out of the court. I should already be at work, but I'm not even close! I finally make it to work and the art project is, well, shall we say "out there" and leave it at that. I felt funky this afternoon, so laid down for about an hour, I couldn't get warm for some reason. Got up and did some laundry and vacuuming. I was out on the porch reaching for a box when a big board fell over on my face, knocking my glasses off and banging up the side of my eye. I kept from crying, looked for my glasses, to find them broken. Looked for my old ones and took the new ones to Lenscrafters where they fixed them while I waited. Thank goodness for that. Went back home and had missed a call from Emily. I called her back and told her I am going back to my old way of thinking - - - that housework is not worth it. forget it!

3 Eden Remarks!

Upon seeing me, Eden remarks: "Oh, I don't think I've told you this yet, but we did the Obama thing last night." oh, really, da da da da da Then, "Yes, but he wasn't there, just other people talking and talking about him." right, and so on......... Then, "I was so bored!" I'd be, too.
